By Brazil Stock Guide – Petrobras (PBR) said it will lower the price of aviation kerosene by 0.5% starting Feb. 1, extending a series of reductions for the fuel used by airlines operating in Brazil.
The cut represents a decrease of 2 centavos per liter compared with January prices. With the new adjustment, the accumulated reduction in aviation kerosene prices so far this year reaches 9.9%, equivalent to a drop of 36 centavos per liter from December 2025 levels.
Looking at a longer period, Petrobras said prices for aviation kerosene have fallen 35.5% since December 2022, amounting to a reduction of R$1.81 per liter. When adjusted for inflation over the period, the real decline reaches 43.6%.
The state-controlled oil producer said it sells aviation kerosene produced at its refineries or imported exclusively to fuel distributors. These companies are responsible for transporting and selling the product to airlines and other end consumers at airports, or to resellers.
Final prices paid by airlines depend not only on Petrobras’ pricing decisions but also on logistics costs, distributor margins and taxes applied throughout the supply chain.
