By Brazil Stock Guide – Airports in Brazil’s Center-West region handled more than 12.5 million passengers in 2025, a 7.5% increase from a year earlier and the highest annual volume in seven years, according to data compiled by the Ministry of Ports and Airports based on the civil aviation regulator Anac’s demand and supply panel.
The data point to sustained growth in regional air travel, supported by infrastructure upgrades and higher passenger flows across key hubs.
Sinop, in Mato Grosso state, recorded the fastest percentage growth in the region. The Presidente João Batista Figueiredo Airport saw traffic rise 14.09% to 227,484 passengers in 2025. According to concessionaire Centro-Oeste Airports, the increase reflects runway and taxiway pavement upgrades carried out at the facility.
Brasília remained the region’s main gateway. Passenger traffic at Brasília International Airport – Presidente Juscelino Kubitschek climbed 10.13% to 8,173,860 travelers, consolidating its position as the Center-West’s primary aviation hub.
In Goiânia, passenger volumes at Santa Genoveva Airport rose 9.47% to 1,913,579. Várzea Grande’s Marechal Rondon Airport posted a 7.09% gain, reaching 1,245,965 passengers. Campo Grande Airport recorded a 3.15% increase, totaling 775,150 travelers.
The federal government expects continued expansion in regional aviation. Ports and Airports Minister Silvio Costa Filho said strengthening airport infrastructure enhances logistics and competitiveness, linking regional production to domestic and international markets.
The ministry announced that 91 million reais ($R$91 million) will be invested in Center-West airports from 2025 through 2027 as part of its public investment portfolio for regional aviation infrastructure.
