Brazil Meat Output Seen Hitting Fresh Record in 2026, Conab Says

Poultry and pork lead modest gains as beef production softens.

Brazil meat production 2026

By Brazil Stock Guide – Brazil’s meat supply is set to reach a new high in 2026 as poultry and pork producers expand output, even as beef faces a cyclical downturn, according to fresh estimates from the national food-supply agency Conab. The projections were first reported by Broadcast.

Combined production of beef, pork and poultry — the country’s three main proteins — is expected to total 32.6 million metric tons next year, a 0.4% increase from the 32.48 million tons forecast for this year.

Poultry remains the standout driver. Output is projected to rise to 15.86 million tons in 2026, exceeding the 15.5 million tons expected for this year. Exports have remained resilient despite a case of avian influenza detected in Rio Grande do Sul in May, with shipments set to reach 5.25 million tons next year. China’s decision to resume purchases of Brazilian chicken has helped sustain external demand.

Domestic availability is also poised to grow, with supply rising to 10.62 million tons in 2026 from 10.3 million tons this year.

Brazil’s pork sector shows a similar trajectory. Production should hit 5.63 million tons in 2025 and climb 4.5% to 5.88 million tons in 2026. Exports are projected at 1.6 million tons next year, even as China — recovering from African Swine Fever — slows purchases. Domestic supply is expected to reach about 4.3 million tons.

Beef production, by contrast, is forecast to slip due to herd-retention strategies. Output is projected to fall to 10.89 million tons in 2026 from 11.38 million tons this year. Still, exports should remain stable at around 4.25 million tons, supported by persistent Chinese demand.

Brazil is also on track to set a new record for egg production next year, with output expected to rise 2.6% to 50.3 billion units.
