By Brazil Stock Guide – Neoenergia (NEOE3) and Nexus Ligas have signed a 10-year agreement to boost wind energy production at the Neoenergia Chafariz complex, located in Paraíba. As part of the deal, Nexus Ligas will become a partner in the Canoas 3 wind generation unit, marking a significant step in their long-term commitment to the renewable energy sector. The agreement received approval from the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE) in June.
With a capacity of 471.25 MW, the Neoenergia Chafariz complex is capable of supplying power to approximately 1.3 million homes annually. This collaboration is expected to strengthen the companies’ positions in Brazil’s growing renewable energy market, especially in wind power, which is seen as one of the most promising energy sources in the Northeast region. The partnership also underscores Neoenergia’s ongoing strategy to expand its renewable energy portfolio and promote sustainability.
