By Brazil Stock Guide – Embraer SA (NYSE: ERJ) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with South Korea’s Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) to enhance cooperation in defense technology and explore new business opportunities in the Korean defense market, according to Broadcast.
The agreement was signed by Air Brigadier Kang Joong-hee, head of DAPA’s Aircraft Business Division, and Bosco da Costa Jr., President and CEO of Embraer Defense & Security. Kang said the MoU shifts bilateral relations “from simple trade to a model of mutual cooperation,” signaling a long-term partnership in strategic sectors.
The deal builds on Embraer’s growing ties with Seoul. In 2023, DAPA selected the C-390 Millennium military transport aircraft in a public tender to modernize the Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF) fleet, strengthening the Brazilian manufacturer’s global credibility.
Last month, Embraer and the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) conducted a week-long series of demonstrations in Sacheon and Busan, including technical visits and seminars aimed at identifying new areas of collaboration with Korean defense companies.
