By Brazil Stock Guide – Axia Energia said Monday (23) that the Colíder Hydroelectric Plant has officially exited “alert” status and returned to the lower “attention” level following the completion of structural interventions deemed effective in addressing previously identified issues.

The company said reservoir refilling will resume in a gradual and controlled manner, with continuous monitoring of structural conditions, water quality and local wildlife, as well as ongoing communication with surrounding communities. The process was authorized by relevant authorities after review of the company’s action plan.

Under Brazil’s dam safety classification, risk levels escalate in the following order: “normal,” “attention,” “alert” and “emergency.” When Axia acquired the asset from Copel (CPLE6.SA) in May 2025, the plant was classified under “attention.” In August of the same year, drainage system problems led to its elevation to “alert.”

Since then, Axia carried out a controlled drawdown of the reservoir and implemented corrective measures recommended by specialists. Construction works were completed in November 2025, followed by technical tests and monitoring that supported the downgrade in the plant’s safety classification.

The company said it will continue monitoring activities and additional works aimed at restoring the facility to “normal” status.
