Brazil regulator approves Delta and Latam partnership for aircraft MRO services.

Delta Latam maintenance deal Cade

By Brazil Stock Guide – Brazil’s antitrust authority Cade approved, without restrictions, a long-term commercial cooperation agreement between Delta Air Lines (DAL) and Latam Airlines Group (LTM), focused on aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul services. The decision was published in the country’s official gazette on Tuesday (28).

The partnership, announced on April 22, establishes a technical collaboration between the carriers in the MRO segment, a critical area for fleet safety and operational performance.

The agreement applies exclusively to commercial aircraft, covering both structural components, known as airframe, and engine modules classified as Line Replaceable Units (LRUs). It does not include military aviation or other aerospace segments.

According to the filing, the companies aim to strengthen coordination in managing technical services, improving efficiency in maintenance operations that are essential to airline performance.

The firms described the deal as an associative contract designed to enhance capabilities and expand competitiveness. “The operation represents an opportunity for the parties to identify and develop an efficient set of capabilities that will allow them to optimize operational efficiencies and increase their competitiveness in offering MRO services to third parties, benefiting the market,” the companies said in the case documents.
