By Brazil Stock Guide – Bradesco has launched a new exchange-traded fund focused on artificial intelligence, combining exposure to some of the world’s largest AI-related companies with businesses at the heart of China’s technological transformation.
The BRIA11 ETF tracks the FTSE AI Global Leaders Index and invests through two overseas-listed funds: the Xtrackers Artificial Intelligence and Big Data ETF, or XAIX, and the Rayliant-ChinaAMC Transformative China Tech ETF, or CNQQ. Together, they provide exposure to companies including Nvidia, Apple, Amazon and Micron Technology, as well as Chinese technology groups such as Alibaba, Tencent, Xiaomi and Meituan.
The structure also takes a broader view of what constitutes an AI investment. CNQQ is not limited to companies directly associated with artificial intelligence, but also includes businesses involved in semiconductors, hardware, batteries, electric vehicles and other industries considered central to China’s technological development. XAIX, meanwhile, focuses on global companies linked to artificial intelligence and big data.
According to Bradesco Asset, one of the fund’s main distinguishing features is its ability to dynamically adjust allocations between the two ETFs and hold as much as 30% of the portfolio in cash depending on market conditions. Bradesco says other AI-themed ETFs and ETF depositary receipts currently available in Brazil generally rely on more static allocations.
In practice, the strategy is designed to capture different parts of the AI value chain, from chipmakers and computing infrastructure providers to companies developing AI applications or deploying the technology across their businesses. The Chinese exposure also gives investors access to a technology ecosystem that is evolving increasingly independently from that of the United States.
“Artificial intelligence is no longer a bet on the future; it has become a transformative force in the global economy,” said Ricardo Eleutério, a director at Bradesco Asset. He said the fund was designed to give Brazilian investors a simple way to gain exposure to the theme through a single locally traded security.
BRIA11 units began trading on the B3 exchange’s secondary market on September 11, with a standard lot of one unit. The fund is available to retail investors and provides international exposure without requiring them to open an overseas brokerage account or transfer funds abroad.
The launch comes as asset managers expand their range of products designed to turn the rapid growth of artificial intelligence into investable strategies. Bradesco’s approach is not confined to the companies currently leading the sector in the United States, but also reflects a bet that China’s technology ecosystem will capture a meaningful share of the next phase of global AI growth.
