By Brazil Stock Guide – Ambipar Participações e Empreendimentos S.A. (B3: AMBP3; NYSE: AMBI) has called an extraordinary shareholders’ meeting for Oct. 10 to vote on the election of Ricardo Cássio Rodrigues Chagas as a new member and chairman of the board of directors.

The meeting will be held entirely online, with shareholders able to cast their votes electronically, in line with the company’s recent practices. Current chair Alessandra Bessa Alves de Melo will remain on the board.

Chagas, 60, has served as CEO of Ambipar Emergency Response in the United States since June. He previously spent more than two decades as senior vice president for Latin America at Edison Chouest Offshore Group. He brings nearly 40 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.

The transition comes as Ambipar seeks to consolidate its international footprint, following its New York listing and expansion in the US. The nomination of Chagas, already embedded in the company’s American operations, signals closer alignment between the Brazilian holding and its global subsidiary.

If approved, the board will expand to six members, within the statutory range of five to nine. Chagas’s term will run until the 2027 annual general meeting.
