By Brazil Stock Guide – John Deere & Co. (DE) has opened a new industrial facility in Canoas, in Brazil’s southern state of Rio Grande do Sul, following an investment of 42 million reais ($8.5 million). The plant will manufacture the 1025E agricultural sprayer, strengthening the company’s local production footprint.

The new unit is part of John Deere’s strategy to update and streamline its sprayer portfolio in Brazil. Production of the 1025E model is scheduled to begin in August and will serve farmers growing soybeans, corn, sugarcane, cassava and potatoes across regions with varied terrain.

The company said the 1025E will replace the existing line of sprayers sold under the PLA brand, which will be discontinued in the Brazilian market. The move reflects a broader effort to consolidate brands and standardize technology across its agricultural equipment offerings.

In a statement, John Deere said the investment continues the expansion of its product portfolio in Brazil, noting that its other sprayer models are manufactured in Catalão, in the state of Goiás. The Canoas facility adds to the company’s industrial base in the country, alongside existing operations in central Brazil.
