By Brazil Stock Guide – Brazil secured new market access for agricultural and fishery products in six countries after receiving sanitary approvals from the Eurasian Economic Union and Japan.
The market openings were announced by Brazil’s Ministry of Agriculture, according to Broadcast. The approvals cover orchids and a range of fishery-based foods in the five-member Eurasian bloc, as well as fish swim bladders in Japan.
Eurasian Bloc Clears Brazilian Products
The Eurasian Economic Union comprises Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia. Its authorization expands access for both ornamental plants and processed fishery products from Brazil.
“The Eurasian Union, comprising Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia, authorized Brazilian exports of orchids and foods made from fish, crustaceans, mollusks and other fishery products,” the ministry said in a statement.
The decision establishes regulatory access across all five markets. The announcement did not provide estimates for potential shipment volumes or export revenue.
Japan Authorizes Fish Swim Bladder Imports
Japan separately approved imports of fish swim bladders from Brazil. The organ is an internal, sac-like structure that helps bony fish control buoyancy.
“Japan, in turn, confirmed that fish swim bladders — an internal hydrostatic, sac-shaped organ found in bony fish — may be exported from Brazil,” the ministry said.
The two authorizations broaden the range of Brazilian products eligible for shipment to markets in Eurasia and Asia. No companies were identified in the announcement.
