By Brazil Stock Guide – Brazil’s national development bank (BNDES) approved R$1.09 billion ($200 million) in export-linked financing to Embraer (B3: EMBJ3; NYSE: EMBJ), reinforcing the planemaker’s production ramp-up as it races to meet a heavy delivery schedule in commercial aviation. The funds come from the BNDES Exim Pre-Shipment line, allowing the manufacturer to complete aircraft already sold to buyers across multiple regions and to maintain export momentum in a year of rising output.

Embraer expects to deliver 77 to 85 commercial jets in 2025 — with the midpoint of 81 representing an 11% increase from 2024 and well above the 64 aircraft shipped in 2023. Including executive aviation and defense, total deliveries reached 206 units last year, up from 181 in the previous cycle, underscoring the company’s role as Brazil’s most globally competitive high-tech exporter.

BNDES President Aloizio Mercadante said the approval reinforces the strategic value of Brazil’s aerospace industry, noting its technology intensity, skilled labor base and relevance for national sovereignty through defense products. Embraer CEO Francisco Gomes Neto highlighted strong demand for both the E2 family and the E175, pointing to a record commercial backlog and ongoing investments to expand production capacity.

Since 1997, BNDES has financed roughly $26.3 billion in Embraer commercial aircraft exports, supporting the production of 1,350 jets. With 23,500 employees — 18,000 of them in Brazil — the company operates industrial facilities, service centers and distribution hubs across the Americas, Africa, Asia and Europe. Embraer remains the world’s third-largest aircraft manufacturer and the global leader in jets of up to 150 seats, with most of its sales tied to international markets.
