By Brazil Stock Guide – Shopee Pte Ltd has opened a new fulfillment distribution center in Brazil’s southern state of Rio Grande do Sul, accelerating delivery times and strengthening its logistics footprint in Latin America’s largest economy. The facility, located in the Porto Alegre metropolitan area, is expected to cut delivery times by as much as 50% across the region, enabling same-day or next-day shipping in cities including Porto Alegre and Florianópolis.
The site has capacity to store more than 1 million items and is projected to create over 1,000 direct and indirect jobs, underscoring the company’s push to scale operations while supporting regional economic activity.
The expansion doubles Shopee’s fulfillment centers in Brazil to four at the start of 2026, adding to existing facilities in São Paulo, Pernambuco and Goiás. The model centralizes storage, picking and shipping processes, allowing sellers to streamline operations and focus on growth while benefiting from faster delivery times.
“With this inauguration, we will bring even more agility to deliveries for consumers in the southern region while accelerating shipments of items from sellers in Rio Grande do Sul to the entire country,” said Felipe Lima, Director of Business Development and Fulfillment Operations at Shopee.
The new facility will operate across multiple product categories, including fashion, beauty and electronics. Rio Grande do Sul is currently the seventh-largest state by number of active sellers on the platform, highlighting its strategic importance for Shopee’s domestic marketplace.
Shopee’s logistics network in Brazil includes 18 distribution centers—14 cross-docking and four fulfillment—along with more than 200 first- and last-mile hubs. The company also operates over 3,000 local drop-off and pickup points and relies on a network of more than 45,000 delivery drivers to support nationwide operations.
