By Brazil Stock Guide – PRIO S.A. (B3: PRIO3), Brazil’s largest independent oil and gas producer, reported average daily production of 155,560 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd) in January 2026, supported by consistent output across its offshore portfolio and limited operational disruptions.
Production was driven by the Peregrino field, where PRIO holds an 80% economic interest, contributing 82,455 boepd in the month. Output from Albacora Leste, in which the company owns 90%, reached 27,003 boepd, while the Frade field delivered 29,980 boepd. The Polvo and Tubarão Martelo cluster added 16,122 boepd to the company’s volumes.
PRIO said production at Frade was temporarily impacted on Jan. 8 by a failure in the power generation system, with operations restored on the same day. The swift normalization prevented a material effect on monthly production averages and reinforced the operational resilience of the asset.
Oil sales totaled 4.09 million barrels in January. The largest contribution came from Peregrino, with 1.99 million barrels sold, followed by Frade with 1.43 million barrels. Albacora Leste accounted for 448,880 barrels, while Polvo and Tubarão Martelo together sold 219,936 barrels during the month.
The January figures highlight PRIO’s strategy of maximizing value from mature offshore fields through redevelopment, efficiency gains, and strict cost discipline. By focusing on assets with low lifting costs and high cash-generation potential, the company has reinforced its position as the leading independent upstream operator in Brazil, maintaining production stability while preserving liquidity and capital discipline.
