By Brazil Stock Guide – Petrobras’ (PETR4) Abreu e Lima Refinery, known as RNEST, set a processing record at its delayed coking unit in August, the company said Wednesday.
The unit processed an average of about 10,888 cubic meters a day, surpassing the previous high of 10,615 cubic meters a day reached in September 2016.
The performance helped boost fuel and feedstock production at the refinery in Ipojuca, Pernambuco. RNEST also posted monthly records for liquefied petroleum gas, or LPG, petrochemical naphtha and green petroleum coke, according to Petrobras.
Naphtha posts largest increase
Petrochemical naphtha production reached 99,912 cubic meters, about 19.7% above the previous record set in January 2017. It was the largest percentage increase among the three products highlighted by the company.
LPG output totaled 10,089 metric tons, exceeding the previous record, set in May, by about 2.9%.
Green petroleum coke production rose to 63,607.8 metric tons, approximately 7.4% higher than the previous peak, also recorded in May.
Petrobras said the figures reflected RNEST’s operating performance and its ability to increase crude processing and refined-product output to meet market demand.
