By Brazil Stock Guide – Nestlé SA (NESN) will invest 540 million reais through 2028 in its factory in Araçatuba, São Paulo state, as the Swiss food group seeks to modernize operations and expand production of specialized nutrition products.
The spending will fund new technology, operational-efficiency improvements and additional production capacity. The project strengthens the factory’s strategic role in Nestlé’s nutrition and health business in Brazil.
The Araçatuba plant is Nestlé’s largest Brazilian factory by net revenue, driven by higher-value products that require more complex manufacturing processes. Its portfolio includes infant formula, medical nutrition products and foods developed to support healthy aging.
The facility manufactures more than 180 products and primarily serves the domestic market. It also supplies customers in Latin America and the Middle East, giving the factory a role in Nestlé’s regional export operations.
About 800 people work directly at the site, while another 200 hold indirect jobs connected to its activities. The investment program is expected to reinforce the plant’s ability to manufacture specialized food products under strict quality requirements.
“The investment in Araçatuba demonstrates our confidence in the Brazilian operation’s ability to produce technologically complex foods under the highest quality standards to serve consumers in Brazil and other countries,” Marcelo Melchior, Nestlé’s chief executive officer in Brazil, said in a statement.
The capital will be deployed gradually through 2028 as Nestlé upgrades the industrial complex and strengthens Araçatuba’s position as a production hub for nutrition and health products.
