Mercado Livre launches unit for corporate clients

New B2B arm targets companies and government bodies with wholesale prices and up to 50% discounts.

Anatel Black Friday Mercado Livre inspection

By Brazil Stock Guide – Mercado Livre Inc. (MELI) unveiled on Monday a new business arm targeting corporate customers, expanding beyond its traditional consumer-focused operations. The unit, called Mercado Livre Negócios, is designed to serve a broad range of clients, from small entrepreneurs to multinational companies and government agencies.

The company said the corporate segment is strategic because it generates higher average ticket sizes, recurring purchases, larger orders and lower return rates. Globally, B2B e-commerce already moves four times more than B2C transactions, with projections pointing to a fivefold gap by 2026, the company added.

4 million corporate users

The new unit has been under testing for about a year and already counts more than 4 million enabled users in Latin America for wholesale purchases. Alongside Brazil, the service is currently available in Argentina, Mexico and Chile.

Roberta Donato, Mercado Livre’s vice president of marketplace, said: “Mercado Livre Negócios already serves from small entrepreneurs to large companies that seek more efficiency in their purchases.” She added: “We are responding to this demand with a safe, simple and efficient solution that allows companies to buy better, with discounts of up to 50%.”

Integrated services and wholesale pricing

The platform will provide corporate clients with access to financing through Mercado Pago, the group’s digital bank, in addition to wholesale pricing, smart pricing tools and differentiated logistics costs. The company’s ecosystem also includes Mercado Ads, Mercado Envios and Mercado Livre VIS (vehicles, real estate and services).

Founded in 1999, Mercado Livre operates in 18 countries and remains the largest e-commerce company in Latin America.
