By Brazil Stock Guide – Brazil’s repacted Fernão Dias highway concession drew three bids ahead of a simplified auction scheduled for Thursday (11) at the B3 exchange in São Paulo. Arteris, Motiva and EPR submitted offers for the BR-381 corridor, a key route linking São Paulo and Minas Gerais.
Motiva — the former CCR unit (CCR SA: CCRO3) — and EPR have evaluated the asset for months, while Arteris, owned by Abertis and Brookfield, currently operates the roadway and seeks to retain the contract. The Fernão Dias concession is the first repacted agreement to attract competition under the federal government’s streamlined auction model, which previously saw only incumbent operators rebidding for their assets.
Arteris has managed the corridor since 2008, and the redesigned contract outlines R$9.4 billion in new investments plus R$5.3 billion in operating costs over the new concession period. The auction will close out the Ministry of Transport’s 2025 calendar, totaling 13 highway tenders completed this year.
