By Brazil Stock Guide – Panama has officially signed a contract to acquire Embraer’s (ERJ) A-29 Super Tucano aircraft, marking the country’s commitment to enhancing its defense capabilities. The agreement places Panama among the growing list of Latin American nations that have opted for the Brazilian-made platform, joining Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Uruguay, and the Dominican Republic.
With this deal, Panama becomes the eighth nation in the region to integrate the A-29 Super Tucano into its air force, a versatile aircraft renowned for its combination of reliability, low operational costs, and robust performance. According to Embraer, 22 air forces worldwide have already selected the Super Tucano, with other countries expressing interest in the platform for its ability to carry out a wide range of missions, including air patrol, special operations, tactical coordination (TAC), Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR), and border monitoring.
