# Grupo Globo fires Frederic Kachar after conversations with Daniel Vorcaro are revealed

**By Brazil Stock Guide —** Grupo Globo announced on Thursday (October 15) the dismissal of Frederic Kachar, its general director of Print Media and Radio, following the disclosure of private conversations with Daniel Vorcaro, the former controlling shareholder of Banco Master. In a statement, the company said the messages revealed an “inappropriate relationship between the executive and an advertiser.”

The WhatsApp conversations, obtained by Brazil’s Federal Police and disclosed by the media, reveal sponsorship negotiations, requests for news stories serving Vorcaro’s interests, and discussions about the editorial coverage of Globo’s media outlets. In one message, the banker asked Kachar to help promote his then-girlfriend, influencer Martha Graeff, including the possibility of featuring her on the cover of *Vogue* magazine. The exchanges also include complaints about critical reports on Banco Master and references to private parties attended by foreign women.

According to Grupo Globo, the conversations took place between October 2023 and July 2025, and the company gained access to the material on Wednesday (October 14). In a statement, Editora Globo reaffirmed its commitment to ethics, transparency and editorial independence, emphasizing its critical and independent coverage of the Banco Master case.

Kachar leaves the media conglomerate after 29 years. He oversaw the operations of the newspapers *O Globo*, *Extra* and *Valor Econômico*, as well as Editora Globo’s magazines and the Globo Radio System, which includes CBN. His successor will be announced soon.
