**Brazil Stock Guide —** BTG Pactual Asset Management and China Southern Asset Management have signed a memorandum of understanding to develop exchange-traded funds (ETFs) offering investors reciprocal access to Brazilian and Chinese equities, the companies said on Friday.

Under the proposed arrangement, China Southern would launch an ETF listed on either the Shanghai or Shenzhen stock exchange that would invest in BTG’s BZEQ11 fund, which tracks the MSCI Brazil 25/50 Index. The fund would trade in yuan, allowing Chinese investors to gain exposure to Brazilian stocks through their domestic market.

In Brazil, BTG would list an ETF on the B3 stock exchange that invests in a fund managed by China Southern, giving local investors access to Chinese equities, including companies in technology, artificial intelligence, semiconductors and advanced manufacturing.

China Southern managed approximately $402 billion in assets as of December 2025 and serves about 225 million clients. The firm operates 68 ETFs and has developed similar cross-border investment structures covering markets including Japan, Singapore and Saudi Arabia.

BTG Pactual Asset Management oversees more than 690 billion reais ($130 billion) in assets. The agreement comes as China’s ETF industry continues to expand, with assets reaching approximately 6 trillion yuan ($850 billion), according to figures cited by the companies.

The firms did not disclose a timetable for launching the funds or specify which Chinese equity index the Brazil-listed product would track. The proposed products would provide a new channel for portfolio investment between Brazil and China, the South American country’s largest trading partner.
